XRP’s Fate Hinges on $2.4: Buy the Dip or Sell the Rip?

XRP’s price is at a critical juncture, with traders focusing on the $2.4 support level to gauge the token’s next move. Recent price trends show mixed bullish recovery signals alongside bearish risks, presenting a dilemma for market participants—whether to accumulate on weakness or exit near resistance.

XRP Key Price Levels to Watch

The cryptocurrency has pulled back from recent highs, demonstrating mixed signals on the four-hour chart. The $2.4 level has surfaced as crucial support, and its resilience will dictate the token’s short-term direction.

A breakdown below $2.4 could expose the market to sell-side liquidity at $2.326, enhancing the chances for further declines. Conversely, if buyers defend this level, the cryptocurrency may rebound towards higher resistance zones. The market has already shown signs of structural shifts, suggesting potential volatility in price movements in the upcoming sessions.

Moreover, the chart highlights key levels of interest for traders. The immediate resistance stands at $2.581, correlating with the 50% Fibonacci retracement level. A breakout above this area could facilitate a price push towards the $2.83 liquidity level.

Further upside targets are set at $3.15 and $3.55, aligning with Fibonacci extension levels. On the downside, failure to maintain price above $2.4 could prompt a retest of $2.326. A breakdown below this crucial support would indicate escalating selling pressure, putting $2.10 as a potential target.

Chart Bias and Market Outlook

Market structure reflects a state of indecision, with the XRP token trading within a rising wedge pattern. This pattern frequently indicates weakening momentum, thus making the next breakout vital for price direction. Additionally, the Relative Strength Index (RSI), currently around 41, has been declining, suggesting a slight bearish preference in the cryptocurrency market.

Nevertheless, if RSI trends upward above 45, it may signal a shift in momentum favoring buy-the-dip strategies. In contrast, a continued decline below 40 would affirm bearish control, raising the likelihood of a breakdown. On-chain data also corroborates uncertainty surrounding XRP’s price movements.

With $75.26 million in net outflows recorded on February 18, 2025, investors appear to be withdrawing holdings from exchanges, which often indicates accumulation. However, the XRP token’s price at $2.5628 shows buyers are lacking momentum. If outflows persist without a price recovery, the $2.4 support may weaken, amplifying the risk of a drop to $2.326.

Furthermore, liquidation data reveals $8.7 million in long liquidations, surpassing $2.21 million in shorts, indicating that bulls are facing more forced exits. Should short liquidations increase, it could signal a reversal toward $2.83. Otherwise, XRP may continue to face pressure, making the next move pivotal.
