Hyperliquid (HYPE) Price Insights

Price Decline Despite HyperEVM Launch
Hyperliquid’s price has declined over 6% in 24 hours following the launch of HyperEVM, aimed at enhancing the platform’s DeFi functionality with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) integration.

Technical indicators suggest market weakness, with fading momentum and emerging bearish signals. The key question is whether HyperEVM can rekindle buying interest or if the downward trend will persist, impacting HYPE’s major price movements.

Hyperliquid Expands with HyperEVM

Hyperliquid has introduced HyperEVM, pivotal for integrating smart contracts into its financial ecosystem. This upgrade provides EVM compatibility, enabling decentralized applications while ensuring an optimal trading experience.

The initial mainnet features security through HyperBFT consensus, smooth transitions between native HYPE and HyperEVM HYPE, and a canonical WHYPE system contract to enhance DeFi activities.

Hyperliquid continues to be a significant player in the crypto space, ranking within the top 20 in earning applications in the past week with over $8.5 million in revenue, outperforming popular projects like Ethena and Marinade, and nearing Maker, BullX, and Ethereum.

Weaker Bullish Indicators for HYPE

The HYPE DMI indicates that the ADX has dipped to 10.6 from 18.9, reflecting a weakening trend. An ADX below 20 suggests limited market momentum.

While the +DI (23.3) is slightly above -DI (21.4), suggesting some bullish presence, short-term EMA lines are trending downward, posing risks of further weakness. A bearish crossover could emerge, amplifying downside pressures.

The RSI has sharply decreased to 33.1 from 68 in four days, indicating a quick loss of bullish momentum. While still above the oversold threshold, continued declines could imply significant selling control.

If the RSI deepens into oversold conditions, there may be a bounce if buyers return; however, persistent bearish momentum could lead to further declines.

HYPE Price Outlook: Potential to Exceed $30?

The EMA lines suggest a death cross may be forming, with short-term EMAs declining toward a crossover below long-term EMAs, a signal typically indicating weakening momentum.

If the downtrend continues, support might be tested at $22.5, with further drops possible to $20 or $18.89, marking a significant decline since January.

A confirmed death cross would heighten selling pressure, complicating recovery efforts.

Conversely, if HyperEVM’s launch revitalizes buying interest, HYPE could see its first resistance at $27.4. Surpassing that might lead to $28.3, and sustained bullish momentum could push HYPE past $30, a level not observed since December 2024.

The community’s reaction to HyperEVM’s launch will play a critical role in determining whether HYPE can escape its current downtrend or will continue facing pressure.
