The Strength of Bitcoin and Market Sentiment
The strength of Bitcoin above the $92k support during the recent tumultuous weeks was encouraging for the bulls. The falling sentiment reflects steady losses across the rest of the market and decreasing online engagement.
The long-term Bitcoin (BTC) outlook remained bullish as the price stayed within a range formation. However, Tether metrics indicated that stablecoin inflows to exchanges have dried up. Traders and investors are hesitant to enter the market, an understandable reaction to recent price actions.
The Bitcoin buy/sell pressure delta has shown a decline in buying pressure over the past two months. Market sentiment has weakened, reaching September and October levels after failing to hold November gains.
Bitcoin Fear and Greed Index Falls to 4-Month Lows
The Bitcoin Fear and Greed Index uses various factors such as price action, volatility, social media engagement, and BTC dominance to gauge sentiment.
The strong gains following the U.S. Presidential election caused the sentiment to soar higher. Previously, during the March 2024 rally, the index consistently reached values of 80 and higher; however, this began to change in late April. The November sentiment uptick also began to taper off just over a month later, and this descent has not fully halted.
The weekly chart indicates that BTC maintains a firmly bullish swing structure despite erratic sentiment changes. Regardless of the fearful macroeconomic outlook in U.S. markets and tariff-related volatility in certain sectors, Bitcoin has defended the $92k range lows.
It may dip to the $88k-$90k range soon, but such a sweep of the lows could present a buying opportunity. HODLers should resist panic—at least, not yet.
BTC did not consolidate within a falling channel for seven months in 2024, only to rally 60% and then cease the uptrend. However, there is uncertainty—the majority of on-chain metrics do not indicate a market top has been reached yet.
