Binance Founder Seeks Community Advice on Donation Funds
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has turned to the crypto community for advice on how to handle an unexpected accumulation of over $1 million in a donation wallet address he previously used.
In a post on the X platform, Zhao explained that the address he initially donated around $100,000 (equivalent to 150 BNB) to has since received more than $1 million in various returns from users. He stated that he would not keep any of the funds for himself and requested suggestions for their allocation.
> “I will not keep any tokens for myself. What should I do with these funds? Add them to liquidity pools? Airdrop them? Donate them to charity? Send them to a destruction address? Any other ideas?” Zhao wrote.
To prevent spam replies, Zhao limited responses to users she follows and warned she would unfollow anyone who spammed the thread. She also rejected personal fund requests, emphasizing that any actions should benefit the community rather than individuals.
Regarding the original donation, Zhao explained it was intended for a college student who had been earning from BNB and actively supporting the BNB ecosystem. The student used his own funds (rumored to be $50,000) to help others, which inspired Zhao to contribute to the initiative.
