Latest Cardano News Features Lace Daedalus 7.1.0

The latest Cardano news features the new update that the Light Wallet Lace has welcomed, featuring Daedalus, the full-node wallet for the ecosystem.

In a new X post from February 28, Lace announced, “Daedalus 7.1.0 is here.” The latest iteration upgrade has a few new features, specifically security and bug fixes.

Introduction of Daedalus 7.1.0

Based on its design for downloading and validating the entire Cardano blockchain, Daedalus aims to provide maximum security, though it may require additional resources.

Integrating security and bug fixes into the protocol demonstrates Cardano’s commitment to enhancing its infrastructure. The security enhancements in Daedalus 7.1.0 protect users and developers by providing updated cardano-node and cardano-wallet, reducing potential DoS risks after the Plomin hard fork.

It’s been almost one month since the Plomin hard fork, which brought decentralized governance to the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain network.

Besides security improvements, the upgrade includes bug fixes like CIP-129 DRep ID support and a macOS 10.15 dynamic library fix.

Platform users are eager for additional features, with many hoping for an Android version. Users have praised that Daedalus 7.1.0 reflects the community’s dedication to security and usability, referring to the upgrades as a way of fortifying the future.

Lace and Historic Upgrade Trends

The Lace Wallet has undergone significant evolution recently, aligning with its roadmap. The launch of Daedalus 7.1.0 is part of a series of enhancements that the Cardano Lace wallet has introduced over recent months.

In 2024 alone, it presented features like full-node support, multi-signature shared wallets, and mobile functionality. The year has seen continued upgrades; last month, Lace Wallet version 1.19.0 was released, improving Cardano’s performance and compatibility through enhanced speed and versatility. Lace v1.19.0 also introduced the DApp Explore feature, providing users easy access to their favorite decentralized applications (dApps).

In general, the Cardano ecosystem remains confident in the capabilities of the Lace wallet, which was recently tested. Seven months ago, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson dared hackers to breach the security of the PGP-encrypted paper wallet, offering a $1 million bounty for anyone who succeeded. No one managed to crack the security during the challenge, marking a significant milestone for both the Cardano network and the broader blockchain ecosystem.

Role of Lace in the Cardano Ecosystem

Given Lace’s positive contributions to Cardano, it is fair to categorize it as a core element of the blockchain. The Cardano ecosystem is increasingly leaning towards more accessible solutions, and Lace is among them. It continues to provide value to the Cardano community.

Its version 1.12 includes features allowing users to multi-stake their ADA, enabling asset delegation to multiple stake pools without requiring fund partitioning across accounts.
