Bitcoin’s Resilience Amid Growing Institutional Demand
Bitcoin is experiencing an increase in institutional demand. OTC desks see their largest monthly inventory decline for 2024, dropping by 26k BTC.
After declining to a 2-week low of $92,118, Bitcoin’s (BTC) has shown resilience, making a significant recovery. The cryptocurrency rebounded from the market crash, reaching a high of $98,125. However, it has experienced a slight pullback and, at the time of writing, Bitcoin was trading at $98,086, marking a 1.25% increase over the past day.
Rising Institutional Demand for Bitcoin
According to Cryptoquant analysis, Bitcoin demand is surging, especially from institutions. The report noted that OTC desks are experiencing their largest monthly inventory decline of 2024, currently down by 26k BTC this month alone. Since November 20, 2024, Bitcoin’s supply has declined by 40k BTC, indicating continued supply tightening.
This significant drop in supply demonstrates increased institutional demand for Bitcoin. Market conditions may lead to a potential supply squeeze, and as supply decreases while demand increases, prices typically rise. Limited supply combined with growing demand drives prices upward.
AMBCrypto confirmed this trend, noting a rise in large holder netflow from -7.15k to 2.44k over the past week, signaling increased capital inflow from large holders into BTC. Such purchases from institutions could reduce supply, creating upward pressure on prices.
What Do BTC’s Charts Say
While the analysis provides a promising outlook for BTC, it’s essential to evaluate other market indicators for confirmation.
Bitcoin’s exchange whale ratio has fallen over the past three days, from 0.5 to 0.43. This drop suggests that institutional investors are accumulating BTC through OTC markets or private transactions instead of exchanges, which reflects growing institutional confidence in Bitcoin’s long-term potential.
Additionally, Bitcoin’s outflow volume from aggregated exchanges has increased from 23.2k to 29.66k over the past three days. A spike in outflow from exchanges indicates accumulation and holding behavior.
In summary, BTC is facing significant demand among investors, which is pushing prices upward. If this trend continues, Bitcoin may reclaim the $99,206 resistance in the short term. However, if selling pressure returns, BTC could find support around $95,830.
