Binance Announces Removal of Monitoring and Seed Tags
Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has announced that it will remove the “Monitoring Tag” and “Seed Tag” applications on certain tokens as of July 9, 2025, following its latest evaluations.
Tokens Affected
Token to Remove Tracking Tag:
- Zcash (ZEC)
Tokens to Remove Seed Tag:
- Ethena (ENA)
- Pyth Network (PYTH)
- Bittensor (TAO)
- Wormhole (W)
Binance notes that tokens carrying a “Watch Tag” generally exhibit higher volatility and risk than other crypto assets. These tokens are subject to regular review and may face removal from the platform. The “Seed Tag” highlights new and innovative projects; however, these may also be associated with significant risk and volatility.
The removal of these labels indicates that the affected projects better align with Binance’s listing criteria, reflecting a decreased risk profile.
Review Criteria
Binance stated it regularly reviews labeling decisions based on several criteria, including:
– Commitment of the project team
– Level and quality of development activities
– Trading volume and liquidity
– Network security and resilience to attacks
– Public communication, community engagement, and transparency
– Responses to due diligence requests
– Findings of unethical or fraudulent activities
– New regulatory requirements
– Sudden increases in token supply or changes in tokenomics
– Significant changes in project ownership or core team
– Community reactions
As a result of this update, the warning labels on ZEC, ENA, PYTH, TAO, and W tokens will be removed, allowing investors to make clearer evaluations.
