Core Scientific Expands Power Supply for CoreWeave
Bitcoin miner Core Scientific has announced an expansion in its power supply to support CoreWeave’s high-computing operations.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Core Scientific disclosed that it will modify its infrastructure to provide approximately 112 incremental MW to host CoreWeave’s NVIDIA GPUs. This follows an announcement in late June when the company revealed it would supply an additional 70 MW to CoreWeave.
With this latest commitment, CoreWeave will now have a total of 382 megawatts of high-performance computing infrastructure at its disposal. Moreover, there is one remaining option for an additional 118 megawatts, as stated by Core Scientific.
When the contract was initially announced in June, Core Scientific projected that the agreement would yield around $290 million in annual revenue, accumulating to more than $3.5 billion over a span of 12 years.
At the time of publication, shares of Core Scientific (ticker CORZ) were up by approximately 14%, reaching a price of $9.38.
