- Blockscout’s open-source block explorer offers multi-search functionalities and advanced analytics for over 600 networks, including Filecoin, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, and more.
- Blockscout has become the de-facto solution for Rollup-As-A-Service providers, such as Conduit, Gelato, and Astria.
Blockscout, the leading open-source block explorer for all EVM-based chains, today announced the close of its $3M seed round led by 1kx. The round included investors such as Primitive Ventures and Gnosis, as well as angel investors including Evan Van Ness, Alex Svanevik, Kartik Talwar, Anton Bukov, and Stefan George.
Blockscout plans to utilize the funding to enhance its product suite and improve user experience. This includes integrating social elements and AI-enabled tools directly into the dashboard. The funds will also support the simpler deployment of their Explorer-as-a-Service (EaaS), aid new projects in customizing EAAS, and strengthen their commitment to providing essential data to developers and end-users.
Block explorers are vital for anyone needing current and reliable blockchain data, but high fees and lack of customizability often make them inaccessible. Blockscout aims to redefine the block explorer role with its open-source and accessible tools. Currently covering over 600 networks and expanding, Blockscout offers a comprehensive product suite for transaction exploration, confirmation, and inspection, including robust developer tools and a user-friendly consumer portal.
“Blockscout will be the default setting for all new and existing EVM chains,” said Igor Barinov, Founder and CEO of Blockscout. “We are on the way to becoming the main platform for verifying all information on blockchains and exploring dApps safely. As one of the few open-source players, we offer unmatched transparency and accessibility to everyone in the crypto space, from developers to everyday users.”
“Block explorers have long been a vital tool for the web3 ecosystem – providing developers, analysts, and end users the visibility they need into on-chain activity and significant transactions,” said Nichanan Kesonpat, Research Analyst at 1kx. “Blockscout’s open-source EVM explorer and tools enable emerging projects to host their own explorer, offering an alternative to costly EaaS solutions and cutting down the expenses of building an explorer from scratch. This is crucial in a modular, multichain landscape where new networks and appchains require immediate user insight into activity.”
Chains can either use Blockscout’s open-source software to host their own server or pay Blockscout to host an explorer for them. Key features, including support for smart wallet transactions and advanced API capabilities, make Blockscout particularly appealing to Layer 2 (L2) solutions. Embedded within the L2 rollup ecosystem, Blockscout has established itself as the go-to solution for RaaS providers like Conduit, AltLayer, Gelato, Chainstack, and Astria, who use Blockscout to offer their clients a pre-integrated block explorer.
Major players such as Arbitrum, Filecoin, Optimism, Base, and Immutable have partnered with Blockscout, some for numerous years. Blockscout has collaborated closely with Optimism for over two years, providing critical data for the Bedrock upgrade and receiving a Retro Grant from the community in recognition of its contributions. Additionally, they recently announced integration with Arbitrum One to simplify data access related to DAOs, NFTs, and dApps.
