BOJ chief says it is 'still taking time' to sustainably hit inflation goal

Bank of Japan's Inflation Outlook

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda stated on Wednesday that while underlying inflation is gradually increasing, achieving a sustainable 2% inflation rate is still progressing slowly.

During a panel discussion at the International Monetary Fund, Ueda remarked that determining the appropriate magnitude for future interest rate hikes remains challenging.
