Bank of Japan’s Interest Rate Policy

TOKYO (Reuters) – Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda stated on Friday that the central bank will continue raising interest rates if underlying inflation approaches its 2% target, as anticipated.

Ueda informed parliament that the BOJ will carefully evaluate, “without pre-conception,” whether the economy aligns with its forecasts, considering the uncertainty surrounding the effects of U.S. tariffs.
