Brazil’s Job Creation in July
BRASILIA (Reuters) – Brazil’s economy created a net of 188,021 formal jobs in July, according to labor ministry data released on Wednesday. This figure is slightly below the economist expectation of 190,000 jobs, as polled by Reuters.
The report shows that there were 2,187,633 new jobs created, while 1,999,612 jobs were closed. This represents an increase compared to the 142,107 formal jobs created in the same month last year.
From January to July, a total of 1,492,214 jobs were created, which is an increase from 1,172,763 in the same period last year, based on adjusted ministry data.
