Burwick Law Chief Max Burwick’s Mayoral Plans

Max Burwick, chief of Burwick Law, has announced that he will provide public and private investments to help students launch their own businesses if elected mayor of New York this year.

In an interview with Protos, Burwick shared his vision for New York to become the “official home of crypto” if he wins in November. He clarified that his investment proposals are not solely aimed at young people, emphasizing his desire to support all founders.

He praised current mayor Eric Adams for his efforts to welcome crypto, stating that “San Francisco has Silicon Valley, New York is Wall Street,” and that “crypto is far closer to Wall Street than it is to Silicon Valley.”

Burwick’s campaign will also focus on rising antisemitism in New York, mentioning that this issue, along with strong support from co-founder Dave Goldman, fueled his decision to run for office.

Targeting Zohran Mamdani

Burwick plans to use the issue of antisemitism to target leading mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani. He claims Mamdani represents a “conflation of progressive ideas and social causes that are linked with Palestinian solidarity.” Mamdani is affiliated with the Democratic Socialists of America, and Burwick argues that the merging of this organization with Students for Justice in Palestine has resulted in an ideology where social causes are interconnected.

Policies like free buses and affordable childcare “aren’t good enough” unless they support universal human rights that include the Palestinian people, according to Burwick. He claims that these statements omit Israelis and are “inherently antisemitic.” He further questioned, “Why has Mamdani never asked for the hostages to be released from Hamas?”

Mamdani’s Popular Support

In response to recent violence, Mamdani stated, “I mourn the hundreds of people killed across Israel and Palestine,” criticizing Israel’s declaration of war and its decision to cut off electricity to Gaza.

Despite facing criticism from various Jewish organizations, Mamdani has garnered support from groups like Jewish Voice for Peace Action for his balanced approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. His advocacy for equal rights for both Israelis and Palestinians has resonated well with voters.

Mamdani is expected to return today from Uganda and will likely answer questions regarding recent incidents in New York.
