Cantor Fitzgerald Partners with Anchorage Digital and Copper for Bitcoin Financing

Cantor Fitzgerald, a leading financial services firm in the U.S., has chosen Anchorage Digital and Copper.co as launch partners for its upcoming Bitcoin financing business.

In a press release on March 11, Cantor, which offers a range of services including investment banking, asset management, capital markets, and digital assets, announced its collaboration with these partners.

This initiative follows comments made by former CEO Howard Lutnick, who outlined plans for the Bitcoin (BTC) financing venture at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Tennessee, back in July.

Despite Lutnick’s transition to a role in President Donald Trump’s administration, Cantor Fitzgerald is moving forward with its initiative, securing initial funding of $2 billion for the BTC business.

In this collaboration, Anchorage Digital and Copper will act as collateral managers and custodians, allowing Cantor to extend leverage to institutional clients holding Bitcoin.

> “We are thrilled to partner with Anchorage Digital and Copper, whose industry-leading security solutions will help us deliver best-in-class digital asset custody services to our clients,” stated Michael Cunningham, head of Bitcoin financing at Cantor Fitzgerald.

Cunningham emphasized that the venture will launch with an initial investment of $2 billion, with plans to increase funding as the business grows. Nathan McCauley, CEO and co-founder of Anchorage Digital, remarked:

> “Our partnership marks a major step forward for the Bitcoin financing ecosystem—built on the safety and security of federally regulated digital asset custody. By combining the best of traditional finance with the best of crypto, we are expanding the horizon of what is possible for institutions in Bitcoin.”

Cantor Fitzgerald manages over $13.2 billion in assets and actively supports Bitcoin and its broader ecosystem.
