Port of Los Angeles Resumes Operations After Fire
(Reuters) – The Port of Los Angeles announced that cargo operations have resumed following a fire caused by an overturned tractor trailer carrying lithium batteries at Terminal Island.
The Port stated on X that terminals affected by the incident are set to fully reopen Saturday (Sept. 28).
Roadways including the Vincent Thomas Bridge and Seaside Avenue have reopened, and cargo operations are resuming as multiple agencies relocated the trailer to a safe area to burn out.
Operations had been disrupted due to the fire near Ocean & Navy Way on Terminal Island on Thursday, affecting APM Terminals, Fenix Marine, Everport, and Yusen Terminals.
