CMB Updates on Cryptocurrency Platforms in Turkey
The Capital Markets Board (CMB) has published new lists detailing which cryptocurrency platforms are still operational in Turkey and which ones have withdrawn.
With the CMB’s deadline for license applications for cryptocurrency service providers having passed on June 30, the liquidation list has grown significantly.
As of now, the total number of companies applying for liquidation has risen to 45. Notable companies ceasing their operations include Bitfinex, Coinbase Turkey, QNB, and Bitget Türkiye.
Consequently, the number of companies on the List of Active Companies has decreased to 60.
Prominent Turkish banks, such as Akbank, Garanti Bank, İş Bank, and Yapı Kredi, have applied for cryptocurrency custody licenses according to the latest list.
Additionally, CMB announced significant restrictions on 10 cryptocurrency service providers whose license applications are still under review as of July 17, 2025. This includes companies like Arbitex, GMS Global, Gümüş Global, Kriptrade, MEXC, Necen, Ovro, Rootech, Web3, and Yuex. The decision mandates that these companies will not be allowed to accept new clients and can only process transactions for existing ones.
> “Regarding Arbitex, GMS Global, Gümüş Global, Kriptrade, Mexc, Necen, Ovro, Rootech, Web3 and Yuex; at our Board meeting dated 17.07.2025 and numbered 40, it was decided that the relevant Platforms would not accept new customers until further notice and would only allow transactions to be carried out by existing customers.”
