DJI Drone Ban Consideration in U.S.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – China-based DJI could face a ban on launching new drones in the U.S. market under an annual military bill up for vote later this week by the U.S. House.

The extensive 1,800-page bill requires a national security agency to determine within one year whether drones from DJI or equipment from Autel Robotics pose unacceptable national security risks.

DJI remarked that if no agency completes the study, it would automatically be added to the Federal Communications Commission's "Covered List," which would prevent the company's new product launches in the U.S. market, despite it being no fault of their own, but rather due to the lack of agency action on the study of their products.
