Global Economic Concerns Post-Trump Election

PARIS (Reuters) – The election of Donald Trump as the next U.S. president signals increased downside risks to the global economy, stated ECB policymaker and French central bank head Francois Villeroy de Galhau on Wednesday.

Villeroy de Galhau emphasized that "the American election must sound a wakeup call for Europe" during his address at a business conference in France. He noted that while the specifics of Trump's policy moves remain to be seen, there is a significant risk that his plans could result in a higher deficit and increased inflation in the United States.
