Elon Musk’s Proposal for TITS
Innovative tech billionaire Elon Musk recently took to his official account on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter) to endorse a suggestion made by Andreessen Horowitz General Partner Katherine Boyle. She playfully suggested establishing what Twitter users have dubbed TITS, which stands for “The Texas Institute of Technology and Science.”
Back in 2021, Musk proposed the idea of founding this university, mentioning it would offer “epic merch.” MicroStrategy’s former CEO Michael Saylor responded positively, stating a hope that Bitcoin would be a focus in the curriculum.
Musk had previously tweeted that tuition would be payable in Dogecoin, with additional discounts available for dog owners.
> Tuition is in Dogecoin & u get a discount if u have a dog

Earlier today, Musk—an enthusiastic supporter of Dogecoin—commented on Boyle’s tweet, saying, “Maybe it is time!” Should TITS materialize, it could significantly boost real-world use and adoption of Dogecoin.

Musk’s Experiments with Educational Reform
Musk aims to not only innovate the electric car and space industries but also to disrupt the US education system. He founded two schools, with Ad Astra (Latin for “To The Stars”) being a private institution for SpaceX employees’ children. The school focused on problem-solving, critical thinking, science, engineering, and ethics without traditional grades, grouping students by ability level.
Ad Astra was closed in 2020, leading to the creation of Astra Nova the same year. This school adopted similar educational principles but was open to all students, emphasizing future-needed skills in technology and society. The tuition for Astra Nova is $32,500 per year.
