Ethereum Surges Past $2,800

Ethereum surpassed the $2,800 mark on July 10, coinciding with the project’s ten-year anniversary, marking a 6.4% increase.

According to data from crypto.news, Ethereum’s value peaked at $2,816 on July 10, around 7:16 AM UTC. The last time Ethereum (ETH) exceeded $2,800 was in mid-June, prior to a market slump.

Although the token peaked briefly, it experienced a slight correction, settling back down to around $2,790. As of the latest update, ETH is trading at $2,791, having increased by 6.34% in the last 24 hours.

Additionally, Ethereum’s market capitalization received a boost from this price surge, increasing by 6.37% to $336.9 billion.

Furthermore, the daily trading volume for ETH saw a significant rise, with an 86.4% increase to $30.9 billion, indicating heightened market activity.

In the past week, the token rose by 7.3%, and it has seen modest monthly gains of 4.3%.

Ethereum Foundation Transfers $2.7 Million

On July 10, on-chain data from PeckShieldAlert revealed the Ethereum Foundation transferred 1,000 ETH, valued at $2.7 million, to an internal wallet around 6:00 AM UTC. This wallet now holds approximately 14,000 ETH or nearly $40 million.

In June, the Ethereum Foundation announced a new treasury policy aimed at long-term sustainability while supporting ecosystem growth. Traditionally reliant on holding ETH, the foundation plans to execute more regular sales to maintain fiat reserves and expand its staking and DeFi activities.

Ethereum launched its first decentralized blockchain on July 30, 2015, marking its debut with the Frontier mainnet and Genesis block mining. Since then, it has undergone various upgrades, the latest being the Pectra upgrade on May 7, 2025.
