JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon to Stay at the Bank

NEW YORK (Reuters) – JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon will remain at the bank and has no plans to join the Trump administration, despite speculation regarding a potential senior government role after the U.S. presidential election, according to a source. Dimon, 68, has been frequently mentioned as a candidate for Treasury secretary by both Republicans and Democrats in recent weeks. However, he stated last month that the chances of him taking an official post are "almost nil."

Dimon has been leading JPMorgan for nearly 19 years. The bank’s board has already identified four candidates who could succeed him when he eventually steps down.

"Our country is now concluding one of the hardest fought and at times divisive elections in our recent history," Dimon stated in a press release on Tuesday before the election results were announced. "The American people are making their decision and soon it will be time for all of us to unite behind our President-elect and all of our national leaders."
