Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari on Monetary Policy
(Reuters) – Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank President Neel Kashkari stated that U.S. monetary policy is currently "modestly restrictive." He noted that short-term borrowing costs are slowing inflation and the economy, but not significantly.
Kashkari mentioned, "The U.S. economy is in a good place," during a Yahoo! Finance event. He added, "In my judgment, we are still at a modestly contractionary stance, but ultimately the economy will guide us in terms of how far we need to go in cutting interest rates further."
