Dallas Fed President's Outlook on Rate Cuts
Investing.com — On Monday, Dallas Fed President Lorie Logan expressed the necessity of gradual interest rate cuts towards a neutral level. This approach aims to mitigate risks associated with a rapid decline in the labor market or a potential increase in inflation rates.
> "If the economy evolves as I currently expect, a strategy of gradually lowering the policy rate toward a more normal or neutral level can help manage the risks and achieve our goals," Logan stated during her speech.
Logan highlighted concerns regarding the possibility of a faster-than-expected cooling of the labor market, despite the strong September jobs report.
These remarks come just weeks before the Federal Reserve's meeting scheduled for November 6-7. Current market expectations indicate a potential 25 basis point rate cut by the Fed, as noted by Investing.com's Fed Rate Monitor Tool.
