Former Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda
Former Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda will become an adviser at the Japan Center for Economic Research starting January, as announced by the non-profit, private think tank on Monday.
At the start of his decade-long tenure, which ended in April 2023, Kuroda implemented massive monetary stimulus to achieve the BOJ's inflation target of 2%.
Incumbent BOJ Governor Kazuo Ueda ended Kuroda's stimulus in March, believing that Japan was on the brink of sustainably reaching the inflation goal.
