BERLIN/LONDON (Reuters)

The governments of France, Germany, and Britain have condemned the transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia. They announced plans to cancel bilateral air services agreements with Iran and implement sanctions against Iran Air.

This announcement follows U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's statement that Russia received ballistic missiles from Iran, which may soon be used in its conflict in Ukraine.

> "This act is an escalation by both Iran and Russia, and is a direct threat to European security," said a joint statement from the three nations.

The countries urged Iran to immediately cease all military support for Russia's war against Ukraine and halt missile development and transfers.

During his visit to Britain, Blinken indicated that the U.S. would also impose sanctions, including those affecting Iran Air, limiting its operations in Britain and Europe.

Britain has also initiated sanctions against Russian cargo ships involved in transporting military supplies from Iran.

In addition, sanctions target individuals and organizations facilitating Iran's military support to Russia, particularly in ballistic missile and drone supply chains.

Foreign Minister David Lammy stated, "We have been clear that any transfer of ballistic missiles by Iran would face a significant response. Today, alongside our international partners, we are calling out this behavior and its attempts to undermine global security."
