German Inflation Update

BERLIN (Reuters) – German inflation rose more than expected in October, reaching 2.4%, according to preliminary data from the federal statistics office released on Wednesday.

Analysts had predicted a reading of 2.1% for this month, after a year-on-year increase in consumer prices of 1.8% in September, using data harmonised for comparison with other European Union countries.
