Israel’s Inflation Eases in December 2024
JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Israel’s inflation eased more than expected in December, ending 2024 at 3.2% compared to 3.0% in 2023, according to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics released on Wednesday. This positive trend may encourage policymakers to consider reducing interest rates soon.
The annual inflation rate in December reached its lowest level since July, dropping from 3.4% in November. This rate was below the expectations of 3.4% according to a Reuters poll, yet it still exceeds the government’s target range of 1%-3% annually.
