Japan Considers Restarting Energy Subsidies
TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan's government is considering restarting subsidies for electricity and gas prices from January next year, continuing until March in response to high fuel costs, public broadcaster NHK reported on Wednesday.
The government is coordinating with ruling parties and others to include this measure in the upcoming economic stimulus package, which will be finalized soon, according to NHK.
Additionally, the government is looking into a gradual reduction in subsidies to manage the rising cost of gasoline starting in December, as reported by Kyodo News agency on Wednesday.
