Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) Worst Performers

Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) are the two largest meme cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, both appearing on the worst performer list today. Meanwhile, former leaders like Floki (FLOKI), Dogwifhat (WIF), and Murad’s pick SPX6900 (SPX) are losing traction in the top 100.

Apathy in Meme Cryptos

In the top 100, Dogecoin (DOGE) has fallen by 3.4%, dropping to a price of $0.1676 and erasing $875 million from its market capitalization overnight. Recent reports indicate Dogecoin reached a critical level during its freefall.

Shiba Inu (SHIB), the second-largest altcoin, has even worse news, sliding 4.1% within 24 hours. Its market cap has been overtaken by Sui (SUI), and the price now stands at $0.00001265, despite gains in the weekly timeframe.

Pepe (PEPE), the third-largest meme coin, is down 3.3% today, while the overall market benchmark has dipped by only 2.8%, currently at $2.79 trillion. Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), the two largest cryptocurrencies, show better performance with 0.7% daily losses each. The cryptocurrency market faced $200 million in liquidations, with meme coin longs accounting for over 20%.

Trouble for Mid-Cap Meme Coins

Mid-cap meme coins are struggling as well. Pudgy Penguins (PENGU) is the second-worst performer in the top 200, down 12%. Other iconic meme coins are also in the red, including Dogwifhat (WIF) which lost 5% overnight, and SPX6900 (SPX) with a loss of 4.7%. Trading volumes are decreasing across these assets.

Lastly, Floki (FLOKI), another previously popular dog-themed meme coin, has dropped 2.7% to $0.00006038.
