Musk’s Political Maneuvering

(Reuters) – Billionaire Elon Musk has held private discussions with allies about removing British Prime Minister Keir Starmer from his position ahead of the next general election, according to the Financial Times.

Musk, the world’s richest person and a close ally of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, endorsed a German anti-immigration party last month ahead of elections set for February. He has repeatedly demanded Starmer’s resignation and commented on British politics.

According to the report, Musk has been considering ways to destabilize the Labour government and sought support for alternative political movements in Britain to catalyze a change in government.

Musk did not respond to a request for comment from Reuters outside regular business hours.

One insider stated, “His view is that Western civilization itself is threatened.”

Earlier, Musk accused Starmer of failing to prosecute gangs of men who raped young girls during his tenure as director of public prosecutions from 2008 to 2013. Starmer defended his record in that role.

Additionally, Musk is set to host Alternative for Germany party leader Alice Weidel in a live interview on X on Thursday. This party, endorsed by Musk, has been labeled as right-wing extremist by German security services.

Earlier this week, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere expressed concerns over Musk’s involvement in the political issues of countries outside the United States.
