OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Pro

(Reuters) – OpenAI on Thursday launched a version of its popular chatbot ChatGPT, priced at $200 per month, aimed at engineering fields and research. This move is part of OpenAI's strategy to expand the industry applications of its technology.

The new tier, called ChatGPT Pro, will be available alongside existing subscriptions: ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Enterprise. It highlights the company’s ambition to commercialize its technology further, which initiated the AI boom.

ChatGPT Pro provides access to the most advanced tools from OpenAI, including unlimited access to its new reasoning model o1, o1 mini, GPT-4o, and advanced voice capabilities. The subscription package also features o1 pro mode, which utilizes additional computing power for solving more complex queries.

OpenAI stated that the o1 pro mode outperforms earlier versions on machine learning benchmarks in areas like math, science, and coding compared to o1 and o1-preview versions.
