Trade Deficit in the Philippines
MANILA (Reuters) – The Philippines posted a trade deficit of $5.09 billion for September, the largest gap in 20 months, according to preliminary official data released on Wednesday.
Imports in September rose by an annual 9.9%, marking the largest increase since April, totaling $11.34 billion.
Meanwhile, exports fell by 7.6%, the biggest drop since June, amounting to $6.26 billion, as stated by the Philippine Statistics Authority.
