Dogecoin Games
Dogecoin surged back into the spotlight recently, hitting a three-year high price in December amid a broader crypto market spike, not to mention continued promotion from Elon Musk, who until recently drove a government agency called the Department of Government Efficiency—yes, the DOGE.
The original meme coin is all about vibes, and if you’re looking to bring more of that goofy fun into your life, then you can find Dogecoin and the meme dog’s likeness in several games.
From a Fortnite-like battle royale shooter to a strategic trading card game and even a crypto mining game that pays out real Bitcoin rewards, here are nine games to play that celebrate all things DOGE.
And there will be plenty more ahead, apparently, with the impending launch of the DogeOS layer-2 network and plans from crypto gaming startup PlaysOut to release up to 15 hyper-casual Doge-themed games by the end of 2025.
Stay tuned there, but for now, these games are available now.
OpenSeason
Fortnite-like battle royale shooter OpenSeason added a custom Doge-themed biome in April 2024. In a blog post, the game’s developers said that it is a “realm where every nook and cranny barks the tale of Kabosu, the Doge, our beloved Shiba Inu.”
The Ethereum-based shooter built the digital environment in collaboration with NFT project Own the Doge, the crypto project that owns the official Doge IP. OpenSeason is available via the Epic Games Store.
Raini: The Lords of Light
Hearthstone-style trading card game Raini: The Lords of Light is filled with crypto-themed cards. The game includes crypto references, such as a card featuring disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried and pseudonymous Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto.
The game teased an “Unleash the Doges” card with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in 2022, later launching a “Chad Doge” card as an Avalanche NFT.
Super Doginals
Super Doginals is a retro-style brawler that is both Doge-themed and inscribed on the Dogecoin blockchain via the Doginals protocol. Akin to classic fighting games like Streets of Rage and Fatal Fury, you control one of three characters—two of which are anthropomorphic Shiba Inu dogs—as you pummel foes based on other meme-friendly creatures like apes, cats, and frogs.
Bitcoin Miner
Bitcoin Miner allows players to mine fake cryptocurrencies while earning real Bitcoin rewards. This iOS and Android game includes Dogecoin as an in-game coin, alongside Shiba Inu (SHIB) and other assets.
Though you can’t earn real DOGE for playing, you can accumulate in-game coins through faux DOGE mining to earn real Bitcoin that can be cashed out. Expect modest payouts, but it’s a fun idle gaming diversion.
Decentraland
Ethereum-based metaverse game Decentraland embraced AI to enable players to chat with non-playable characters (NPCs). New characters include Simone the Robot, 23-year-old streamer Aisa, and a buffed-up Doge who is a lighthearted addition despite his imposing stature.
The game is free to play, but the Decentraland world is divided into 90,000 units of NFTs, known as LAND, requiring cash to build publicly. However, you can explore and chat with Doge without spending anything.
Who’s the Top Dog?
Inscribed on the Bitcoin blockchain via the Ordinals protocol, Who’s the Top Dog? is a Pac-Man clone featuring crypto elements. Pac-Man is replaced by the mascot of the Bitcoin Runes token DOG, while the ghosts are replaced by pups associated with popular meme coins like Shiba Inu, Dogwifhat, Floki, and DOGE.
This game is also playable as a built-in game on the BitBoy One handheld console, offering a Bitcoin riff on Nintendo’s Game Boy.
Katana Inu
Katana Inu is an NFT-based battle royale featuring a sword-wielding, Dogecoin-themed playable character that serves as the game’s mascot. It includes characters dedicated to other crypto projects like meme coin NPCs and even one inspired by Solana.
PixelTap
The Telegram tap-to-earn game PixelTap added “The Giga Chad Doge” last year—a muscular version of the beloved Doge. This character can be used in the Pixelverse Telegram game to fight enemies and progress.
