Emergency Landing of Qantas Flight

SYDNEY (Reuters) – A Qantas flight bound for Brisbane made an emergency landing at Sydney airport after passengers reported a loud bang from one of its engines, according to Australian media reports.

The aircraft circled back and landed safely at Sydney airport, as confirmed by a spokesperson.

A grass fire broke out near the runway after the plane took off, although it was unclear whether the airplane engine caused the fire.

The Sydney airport fire department stated, "Sydney airport is assisting Aviation Rescue and Firefighting to extinguish a grass fire that has ignited next to the third runway."
