U.S. Senator Urges Speedier FAA License Reviews for Private Rockets

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. Senator Jerry Moran has urged the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to accelerate its license review process for private rocket launches. In a letter viewed by Reuters, he expressed that the agency's oversight of the rapidly growing space sector is hampering national objectives.

Moran, who is the highest-ranking Republican on the Democratic-controlled Senate Commerce aviation subcommittee, emphasized in his October 25 letter to FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker that the FAA's commercial space office "must rapidly improve its transparency, accountability, and pace of execution."
