Shiba Inu Community’s Deflationary Efforts
The SHIB community remains steadfast in its deflationary strategy by continuously burning Shiba Inu meme coins.
A recent surge in this activity has seen millions of SHIB tokens destroyed, according to on-chain tracking platform Shibburn. The burn rate increased dramatically by 12,833% on Friday, driven by the quantity of SHIB destroyed.
Notably, 13,090,171 SHIB tokens were sent to dead wallets, making them unspendable and effectively lowering the total supply. This action has reduced the circulating supply of Shiba Inu tokens to 584,532,038,460,906, aiming to create scarcity and potentially boost the token’s price.
According to Shibburn data, the surge in burn transactions stemmed from just three transactions. The largest transaction involved over 7.5 million SHIB being moved to an unspendable blockchain wallet from an anonymous source. The other two transactions contributed 119,379 and 267,141 SHIB to inferno wallets, respectively.
Prior to this spike, SHIB’s burn rate had been consistently low, but this recent activity has sparked positive reactions from the community, reigniting investor confidence in SHIB’s future potential.
While this increase in burn rates coincides with a broader crypto market rebound, SHIB holders remain hopeful about a positive change in the token’s price. Nonetheless, it is important to note that the burn rate does not directly influence short-term prices but aims to enhance scarcity, which could lead to future value increases.
