Transak and Soneium Partnership: Enhancing Web3 Gaming

Web3 payments infrastructure provider Transak has partnered with Soneium, an Ethereum Layer 2 developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs, to offer onboarding solutions for mainstream users into this new blockchain project.

The integration is expected to significantly impact the gaming industry, facilitating broader adoption of blockchain technology among the gaming community and creating new monetization opportunities, according to a company press release.

“This collaboration underscores our commitment to bridging the gap between Web2 and Web3, empowering industries such as gaming and entertainment with innovative solutions that enhance user experiences and drive digital transformation,”
Transak Co-Founder and CEO Sami Start said in the press release.

Gamers using these products could purchase, transfer, and trade in-game assets and NFTs employing traditional payment methods enabled by Transak.

Sota Watanabe, the CEO of Startale, Soneium’s co-development company, mentioned that Transak’s dedicated solutions for various industries will empower developers to create innovative solutions, and they look forward to fostering groundbreaking projects on Soneium.

Transak is a Web3 payments infrastructure provider that operates in 160 countries, powering over 350 applications and boasting more than 5.7 million users. In July, it announced a partnership with Uniswap to facilitate fiat on-ramp services for the Uniswap wallet.

The Soneium blockchain is an Ethereum Layer 2 based on the Op Stack, designed specifically for consumer-grade applications. It is a joint venture between Sony Group Corporation and Startale Labs. Early collaborators on the network include Circle, Optimism, Alchemy, The Graph, Chainlink, and the Astar Network.
