Spain's Inflation Update
(Reuters) – Spain's European Union-harmonised 12-month inflation rose to 1.8% in October, up from 1.7% in September, as per final data by the National Statistics Institute (INE) released on Thursday.
The 12-month inflation rate matched the flash estimate reported by INE two weeks ago and aligned with the average expectation from analysts polled by Reuters.
Core inflation, which excludes volatile fresh food and energy prices, increased to 2.5% for the 12 months ending in October, up from 2.4% a month earlier, according to INE.
National consumer prices in Spain rose to 1.8% over the same period, compared to 1.5% in September. The final reading confirmed the earlier flash estimate released by INE and analysts' projections from Reuters.
