The Spanish government has raised its 2025 gross domestic product (GDP) growth forecast to 2.6% from a previous 2.4%, as stated by Economy Minister Carlos Cuerpo.
Cuerpo discussed the revised figure in media interviews, noting on radio station RNE on Monday that despite global geopolitical risks, Spain is set to lead the euro zone’s largest economies this year.
Spain’s GDP grew at an unexpectedly high 3.2% in 2024, according to data released last week.
Cuerpo asserted that Spanish growth contributed to nearly 50% of the overall growth for the 20-country bloc in 2024.
In contrast, France is anticipating a growth of 0.9% while Germany expects 0.3% this year.
