Toncoin and UAE Golden Visa Claims
Following the claims that a golden visa could be obtained in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in exchange for staking Toncoin (TON), the TON Foundation issued an official statement after UAE authorities denied these news.
The TON Foundation announced in a blog post that the initiative is an independent collaboration between Toncoin and a licensed partner specializing in blockchain infrastructure and tokenized assets. The statement noted that this work has no direct or indirect relationship with any UAE government institution:
> “We understand the interest and excitement of our community on this issue, but we want to clarify. This initiative is not being implemented in a formal partnership with the UAE government, and Toncoin has not been given any official approval.”
The TON Foundation noted that the initiative is still in its early stages, exploring how a regulatory-compliant blockchain infrastructure can be integrated into residency programs in the future. They reminded that applications alone do not guarantee visa issuance, with final decisions resting with relevant UAE authorities.
The statement also supported a joint declaration made by the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), and Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA). This statement clearly stated that no golden visa program was launched through cryptocurrency investment.
This is not investment advice.
