World Liberty Financial’s Strategic Reserve
Co-founder Chase Herro announced on Thursday that the platform aims to create a “strategic reserve” using tokens it purchases, as reported by Bloomberg.
The decentralized finance (DeFi) project is notably supported by President Donald Trump and his family. Donald Trump Jr. joined Herro on stage at the Ondo Summit in New York on Thursday.
On the same day, World Liberty Financial acquired $470,000 worth of Ondo Finance’s token. However, Herro did not disclose the purpose or size of the strategic reserve. Last year, during the presidential election, President Trump promoted the concept of a strategic bitcoin reserve.
Earlier this week, David Sacks, President Trump’s “crypto czar,” detailed the administration’s pro-crypto agenda, which includes exploring the possibility of establishing a strategic bitcoin reserve.
Currently, the project manages about $35 million in various tokens, reflecting a significant 90% decline from its previously substantial treasury after recently transferring large amounts of tokens such as AAVE, ENA, ETH, LINK, and WBTC on Monday.
