Trump Advocates for Increased Border Security Funding

MIAMI (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday emphasized the need for Congress to pass a bill that boosts funding for border security.

In a speech to House Republicans at his Doral resort in Miami, Trump outlined his plans to transform policy priorities into a legislative agenda.

> “In the coming weeks, I’m looking forward to working with Congress on a reconciliation bill that financially supports our plans to totally and permanently restore the sovereign borders of the United States once and for all,” Trump stated.

He proposed that the funding increase should focus on the following:
– More border security personnel
– Retention bonuses for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and border patrol personnel
– Increased funding for detention beds
– Expanded border security infrastructure and barriers
– Completion of the border wall along the Mexico border

Trump reiterated the importance of these enhancements to ensure effective border management.
