Trump Announces Katie Miller's Role in New Advisory Board

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday named Katie Miller as one of the first members of an advisory board aimed at reducing government spending and regulations. Miller served in Trump's first administration and is married to Stephen Miller, Trump's incoming deputy chief of staff.

The board, spearheaded by billionaire allies Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, will be part of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Trump stated that DOGE's purpose is to "slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies."

Trump expressed gratitude towards Katie Miller, noting her loyalty and experience. He shared this announcement on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Musk and Ramaswamy plan to eliminate numerous federal regulations imposed by a perceived ineffective bureaucracy. Musk aims to reduce the number of federal agencies from over 400 to 99.

Katie Miller previously served as deputy press secretary for the Department of Homeland Security and as press secretary for former Vice President Mike Pence. Currently, she is a spokesperson for the transition team for Trump's designated Health and Human Services Secretary, Robert Kennedy Jr.
