Trump's Transition Team Arrives at the Pentagon

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President-elect Donald Trump's transition team will arrive at the Pentagon on Monday, a Pentagon spokesperson confirmed, following a delay in signing an agreement to formally commence the transition process after the November 5 election.

Pentagon spokesman Major General Pat Ryder stated that Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks had a discussion with the Trump transition team on Friday, where she "conveyed the department's commitment to conducting a smooth and professional transition."

Critics raised concerns about the unusual delay in signing the agreement after the election, fearing it might lead to issues in government operations or conflicts of interest.

Trump, a Republican, is set to take office on January 20. His team turned down requests from Democratic President Joe Biden's administration to promptly sign a memorandum of understanding and opposed certain aspects of a traditional transition agreement, as reported by the White House.
