Ukraine Receives IMF Funds

(Reuters) – Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced on Monday that the country has received $1.1 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for essential budget expenditures.

Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko stated that Ukraine has received a total of $5.4 billion from the IMF thus far this year.

Kyiv heavily relies on foreign financial aid to manage social expenditures and support the economy, as its military continues to engage with Russian forces nearly three years after Moscow's full-scale invasion in February 2022.

Ukraine channels its own revenues into security and defense efforts.
