Bitget Partners with UNICEF to Enhance Blockchain Literacy

Bitget, the leading cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company, has partnered with UNICEF in Luxembourg to advance blockchain literacy and digital skills among global youth.

The three-year partnership will see Bitget enter the UNICEF Office of Innovation Game Changers Coalition, aiming to equip 300,000 individuals—including adolescent girls, parents, mentors, and teachers—with blockchain skills across eight countries: Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, and South Africa.

Bitget Academy to Develop UNICEF’s Online Training Module

Bitget Academy, the educational wing of Bitget, will create UNICEF’s first interactive online and in-person blockchain training modules, utilizing video game creation skills to benefit teachers and youth. This inclusion will augment a curriculum that is already reaching hundreds of thousands. Moreover, Bitget will expand the Coalition’s outreach to a ninth country.

Sandra Visscher, executive director of UNICEF Luxembourg, stated that the partnership for digital skills is a crucial driver for opportunity and inclusion. She emphasized, “By collaborating with Bitget, we want to provide adolescents and young people with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to shape their futures. Innovation should be a force for inclusion, broadening horizons, and ensuring technology serves everyone.”

Bitget aims to introduce UNICEF to leading blockchain protocols and developers from the Web3 space to participate in this educational initiative. These contributors could become mentors and partners, offering valuable perspectives on blockchain technologies.

Gracy Chen, speaking at the partnership signing, emphasized the need for emerging technologies to be accessible to all, especially young women. She remarked, “Blockchain is a powerful tool for social good, allowing our younger generations to innovate in ways that can transform society. What started as an initiative to empower hundreds of women has now grown into a global movement to educate thousands of girls.”

Every year, adolescent girls and young women in low- and middle-income countries miss out on $15 billion in economic opportunities due to internet access and digital skills disparities compared to their male counterparts. With 90% of jobs today requiring digital skills, the Game Changers Coalition seeks to close the gender digital skills gap.

Bitget and UNICEF Equip Women for the Digital Economy

Bitget and UNICEF are committed to building a scalable and inclusive model to equip young women to navigate the digital economy of tomorrow. As part of the Game Changers Coalition, Bitget joins organizations such as the Global Video Game Coalition and Micron Foundation, sharing a goal to reach 1.1 million girls by 2027 with learning and skills-building opportunities. With Bitget Academy and support from the $10M initiative Blockchain4Her, Bitget is focused on enhancing digital literacy and financial independence among young women.
