SEC Charges Mango Markets
(Reuters) – The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) charged Mango Markets, a cryptocurrency trading platform, with unregistered sales of its digital asset token, which was deemed a security.
The SEC also settled charges against Mango Labs and Blockworks Foundation for not registering as brokers.
Earlier this year, a federal court jury in Manhattan convicted a crypto trader for commodities fraud related to rigging the Mango Markets exchange and stealing approximately $110 million from the platform.
