U.S. SEC Charges Mango Markets
(Reuters) – The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) charged cryptocurrency trading platform Mango Markets on Friday for unregistered sales of its digital asset token, classified as a security.
The SEC also settled charges against Mango Labs and Blockworks Foundation for not registering as brokers, according to the agency.
Earlier this year, jurors in federal court in Manhattan convicted a crypto trader of commodities fraud for rigging the Mango Markets exchange and stealing around $110 million from the platform.
