U.S. Government Sells 20-Year Treasuries
Investing.com — The U.S. government sold 20-year Treasuries on Wednesday at a lower-than-expected yield, supported by stronger domestic buying that mitigated the impact of softer demand.
The notes were awarded at 4.900%, which is 1.1 basis points below the anticipated yield of 4.911% but significantly higher than the 4.686% high from the previous auction.
The bid to cover ratio, indicating demand, increased to 2.75 from 2.50 in the last auction.
Dealers made up 51.3% of the bids, while direct bidders accounted for 13.6%, and indirect bidders represented 35.1% of the auction.
