The Bitcoin Whale “Spoofy”
The giant Bitcoin whale, Spoofy, is well-known for his ability to identify both market declines and increases. Recently, Spoofy made headlines by purchasing over $344 million worth of Bitcoin from Bitfinex when the price fell below $90,000.
Cryptocurrency analyst, Saint Pump, who operates under a pseudonym, highlighted that Spoofy is among the largest investors in the cryptocurrency space. The analyst also provided insights into Spoofy’s previous trading activities. Notably, Spoofy accumulated Bitcoin during both the LUNA and FTX crashes in 2022, purchasing 70,000 BTC while prices ranged from $40,000 to $16,000.
Spoofy later sold this Bitcoin when the price rose between $40,000 and $70,000 in 2023 and 2024. Interestingly, Spoofy completely liquidated his BTC holdings in early 2024 but managed to acquire 24,000 BTC before the Donald Trump rally began, subsequently selling during that rally.
Currently, Spoofy is accumulating Bitcoin again this fall, with the potential for continued accumulation if the market conditions remain weak. Analysis shows investors are currently facing losses exceeding $2.16 billion, with CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju observing that many of the panic-selling investors are inexperienced. In contrast, seasoned investors like Spoofy are taking advantage of market declines to accumulate BTC.
